2011 Oregon Crusaders November Audition Camp Report

Fresh off their successful 2010 season and 2nd place finish at DCI World Championships in August, the Oregon Crusaders completed their 1st audition camp in Salem, Oregon this past weekend. With nearly 110 in attendance for the overnight event, the staff was prepared with the first 3 minutes of music from ?The Blue Hour?, which was previewed by parents and supporters on Sunday afternoon. The 56 brass and 40 percussionists filled the gym with a powerful and dramatic Intro with hints of Moonlight Sonata, followed by a portion of the opener, ?Blue Shades?.

?The entire Staff and Board of Directors are very pleased by the response and results of our first audition camp, and look forward to the next one on December 4th ? 5th? said Mike Quillen, Oregon Crusaders Program Director. ?While we are excited by the turnout so far, we are continuing our recruiting efforts in earnest to find the best talent that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.?
