Beatrix Wants To Get Back In The Lead

Beatrix Drum & Bugle Corps wants to get back in the lead. To achieve this, the board has presented a ‘vision plan’. Time, patience and a consistent policy are needed to reach this goal, says President Gerard Eijlers.

Although the rumours that Beatrix is having a difficult time are not true, the Beatrix Chairman understands why the rumours are circulating. “Two sixth places in a row is not where we want to be”, acknowledges Eijlers. “On the other hand, the competition has become much stronger in recent years, so the phrase ‘to stand still is to move backwards’ literally applies.”

The corps from Hilversum will continue work on improving their standard. The aim of the vision plan is to raise Beatrix and Jong Beatrix to a higher level, both musically and visually. The advice of in-house arranger Rob Balfoort is being followed and developed further by the staff in the rehearsal programme.
