World Gone Mad To Compete In 2011

| |

World Gone Mad, Austin’s Rock & Roll Drum and Bugle Corps, has announced plans to become a competitive unit for the 2011 season. “We’ve paid our dues in Austin’s underground music scene” said Mike Reynolds, the corps’ executive producer, “and after four years of hard work it’s time for us to do what every great rock band before us has done. It’s time for us to sell out”.

Changes for 2011 include an expanded battery, the introduction of pit percussion, a new color guard program, the addition of a drum major/conductor and the elimination of the corps’ signature music stands. Per WGM tradition and risk management guidelines, brass and percussion members will not march, and all potentially strenuous movement will take place within the color guard program. World Gone Mad’s hard rock repitore will remain in place along with its iconic front man.

World Gone Mad is currently reviewing applications for brass, percussion and color guard staff as well as performer positions in all sections. Interested parties should contact corps director Joe Kempneich at joe [at] keepaustinloud [dot] com immediately to schedule an interview.

The corps will operate under the non-profit umbrella of Keep Austin Loud, Inc.
