Colts Announce Kansas City And Texas Auditions

Missed your chance to audition? Not if you live in Texas or Missouri! The Colts have scheduled one-day auditions in Kyle, Texas (just south of Austin) on January 29th, and Kansas City, Missouri on February 5th.

The drum corps is shaping up nicely for the 2011 season following our November and December audition weekends in Dubuque. There are still a few immediate openings in the low brass, percussion battery and pit (keyboard) sections. Trumpet and mellophone players are also encouraged to attend as those sections are not yet finalized, pending the results our January rehearsal camp in Dubuque on January 14-16.

 

There will not be color guard auditions held at the Texas and Kansas City sites. Interested color guard students should contact Carla Burgess-Tomsaregarding openings for the 2011 season.

The cost for each of the audition days is $75. This fee will be applied toward your first weekend camp in Dubuque. The fee includes audition exercises and materials, a private audition with individual feedback by the Colts staff, and lunch.

Even if you are not interested in marching drum corps this summer this is a great opportunity for high-level instruction in the Colts brass, percussion and marching techniques that may help you in future auditions.

Please send an RSVP with your planned attendance for either audition day to colts [at] colts [dot] org and include your name, current school, and the instrument that you plan to audition for.

The Texas audition schedule follows. Details of the Kansas City audition day will be similar pending final approval from the school facility.
