Govenaires Begin Rehearsal For 2011 Production

| |

The Govenaires kick off 2011 with rehearsals starting Saturday, Jan. 15 at St. Peter High School from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Minnesota State University – Mankato’s Performing Arts Center will host rehearsal the following Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The group plans on raising the stakes over last year’s finish in DCA Class A finals. “What Happens in Vegas … ” promises to be the loudest, flashiest and lustiest production in the corps’ 84-year history.

Leading the charge on staff will be Larry Pawlowski (brass caption head), Dennis Argul (brass arranger), Andy Falvey (visual caption head), Lee Krueger (percussion caption head and arranger), Molly Norton (color guard co-caption head) and Jeffery Peterson (color guard co-caption head and staff director). Stay tuned for more staff announcements.

If you’re feeling lucky, but have questions about getting lucky with the Govies, go to govenaires.org for answers about the rehearsal weekend.

Founded in 1927 as the St. Peter Legion corps, the Govenaires have entertained countless people. In the past decade, they’ve added competitive success to the mix, winning Drum Corps Associates (DCA) Class A championships in 2006 and 2009.
