In The News: CHS Percussionists Set Their Sights On Drum Corps International

Their last halftime show ended weeks ago, but the role of performing percussionist is far from over for Cleburne High School seniors Bryce Harrington, Gavin James and Deryck Barrera.

All three members of the Golden Pride snareline are hoping to land spots among the elite drum and bugle performance teams that make up Drum Corps International. Their plans to join ?marching music?s major league? began last summer after attending a Phantom Regiment snare drum camp in Rockford, Ill.

The three days they spent at the camp, held at Rockford College, the home base of the Regiment, was quite an experience according to James, who has been a member of the CHS snareline since his sophomore year.
