Ian Mixer is never without his trumpet for long.

Throughout the summer, the 2010 Longmont High School graduate traveled around the country and competed with the Denver-based Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.

The corps competed in Drums Along the Rockies at Invesco Field at Mile High on July 10.

?Drums was definitely a good show,? said Mixer, who had attended the show three times before he joined the Blue Knights. ?To perform last, under the lights, was fun.?
