First Gold Performance Outside Of California In 2011

Gold Drum and Bugle Corps announced today their plans to perform at DCI’s Drum Along the Rockies shows in Loveland and Denver, Colorado this summer. The drum corps will begin their 2011 summer tour in Southern California and then head out of state for the first time.

“The corps is embarking on a new journey. Their growth in the past five years has been amazing.  This opportunity is paving the way for what I hope is even more success to come.” expressed Executive Corps Director, Donald Flaherty. The corps released the information to its’ potential members and veterans today who expressed an overwhelming amount of excitement over the opportunity. The corps Membership Director, Jackie Garcia said, “The members have been asking for a chance to do something different; I’m glad we were able to give them that.” 
Gold’s tour schedule out of state begins with a performance in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 6th, then Loveland, CO on July 8th, and culminates in Denver, CO on July 9th. The corps is still scheduled to end their season in Southern California on July 17th. Program Coordinator, Gary Backlund explained, “I’m still hopeful in our recruiting efforts and know that Southern California performers are not only going to want to work with this years amazing staff but they’re also going to want in on our trip to Denver! It’s an exciting time for the corps and its members!”

Gold Drum and Bugle Corps has one last audition scheduled this week on Sunday, February 13th at West Hills High School from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Further information is always available on the corps website, www.golddrumcorps.org
