2011 Cavaliers March Camp Update

As Green Thunder Percussion traveled to Chattanooga, Tenn. for the 2011 WGI Mid-South Percussion Championship, taking first in the Percussion Independent Open Class, brass and percussion members of The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps gathered in Rosemont, Ill. the weekend of March 18-20 to continue training for the 2011 season. The recurring theme of musical and visual preparation extended with designers and instructors pleased with the progress shown.

“We’re working on many new exercises, concepts and techniques that further build on our brass program,” said Brass Caption Head Scott-Lee Atchison. “It’s imperative that members put in the work prior to camp, and that expectation is definitely being surpassed.” The guys are getting more and more excited about the demanding musical book that designers Michael McIntosh, Alan Miller and Dr. Drew Shanefield have developed – It’s going to be a fun ride!
