Spirit of Atlanta is proud to welcome Bob Smith as a Visual Consultant for the 2011 season. Bob is no stranger to the drum corps activity, having spent over 20 years as a marching instructor, visual caption head, consultant and drill designer for drum corps and marching bands. Most notably, Bob was a marching instructor and Visual Caption Head for Phantom Regiment (1987-1997 and 2000-2004), where he helped the corps win the field marching and GE visual captions numerous times, including the 1996 DCI World Championship. As such, he worked with some of the great pageantry masterminds: DCI Hall of Fame members Michael Cesario and John Brazale, as well as noted drill designers Greg Cesario, John Sanchez and Tony Hall. Bob also taught at Tar Heel Sound and most recently served as a visual consultant for the Colts, where he worked with Spirit of Atlanta’s current Visual Designer Jeremy Hunt and Guard Caption Head Jude Boughton.
