Forte/Overture Youth Advocacy through the Arts is a non-profit that was started in September 2009 to bring a drum & bugle corps to North Texas. In our first year, we achieved Finalist Status in DCI Open Class Competition, traveled through nearly a dozen states, had members from all over North TX, surrounding states, and as far away as Ohio and Mississippi. Forte has plans to grow slowly and smartly, ensuring the longevity of our organization and eventual rising to the top ranks within Drum Corps International. A Grant of this size would go directly to purchasing equipment desperately needed for the influx of excited youth who have joined us in year 2.
