2011 Pacific Crest Member Reports For April

| |

Color Guard performers Jenny Lyons and Amy Kremer share their thoughts about the April Camp.

April camp was an awesome one! It was our first full stayover camp as a color guard, and we welcomed back our members who were in winter guard along with several bright new faces. We joined the brass and percussion for their conditioning session, which is really going to help us later in the season with stamina during rehearsal and performances (yay)! We had intense dance, flag, and weapon technique blocks and received volumes of great info from our staff. This camp we jumped into learning dance and flag choreography for the show and worked with new equipment and movement ideas for our first production, “Push.” The choreography is exciting and definitely a new step for the guard this year. We are all so excited about this year’s show and the way it is shaping up! The weather was exceptionally hot for this part of the season which made for a very challenging weekend, but it will undoubtedly help us prepare early for the summer heat. I was really impressed by the way we pushed through camp. I am proud to be a part of Pacific Crest; we will definitely be going far this summer! I can’t wait to do it all again (along with learning drill!) at our May camp.
