Color Guard Nederland Presents 2012 Contest Schedule

| |

Already during the successful 2011 season, Color Guard Nederland (CGN) was already planning ahead for 2012. And although it is not completely finalized yet, CGN now presents the schedule for its 2012 season. The season has a couple of novelties compared to previous years. One is the early start for Indoor Percussion, on January 28. Another is the new venue in Wageningen, near the centre of the Netherlands. The “CGN-circus” will be there on February 18.

Vera Brusse, who is in charge of reservations within the Board of CGN, is satisfied with the schedule. “Many venues are pleased to welcome us,” she explains. “But the bigger ones all have more tenants and events to take into account. Add to that the fact that most of their schedules are based on school calendars and you can easily see that it is hard to get confirmations already in April or May.” Where CGN would prefer to have the confirmations even earlier than that.

The schedule is now:
14 January 2012 Waalwijk (S) CG
28 January Drachten (N) CG IPC
11 February Aalsmeer (CW) CG
18 February Wageningen (CE) CG IPC
3 March Goes / Waalwijk (S) CG
10 March Almere* (C) CG IPC
17 March Drachten (N) CG IPC
31 March Eindhoven CG IPC
21 April Eemnes (C) I&E
(N) = North; (C) = Centre; (CE) = Centre East; (CW) = Centre West; (S) = South area of the Netherlands

CGN is discussing the March 10 event in Almere with Winter Guard International (WGI). It is our intention to organize both a Color Guard as an Indoor Percussion European Regional or Elite Event on that date. “The Topsporthal in Almere is THE place for a major event like that,” says Paul Doop, CGN’s Chairman. “WGI is also aware of this, but the organization of a WGI event is just different from a CGN contest.” CGN expects to have more news on this event later this week.

Registration for the 2012 season starts in September 2011.
