Jubal Preparing For 2011 USA Tour

| |

This summer, Jubal drum and bugle corps from Dordrecht, The Netherlands, is returning to the United States for a three week tour culminating with the DCI World Championships in Michigan City and Indianapolis, Indiana. What’s special about this visit is that the Jubal organization is also celebrating their 100th anniversary. This marks the second year that a European corps will visit the US while celebrating their centennial, the Kidsgrove Scouts doing so in 2010.

Jubal will be logging many miles and visiting multiple regions of the United States during their tour, performing in locations like Ocean Springs, Mississippi; Gadsden, Alabama;  Atlanta, Georgia; Dayton, Ohio; Allentown and Erie, Pennsylvania; and, of course, Michigan City and Indianapolis, Indiana. Jubal’s anniversary will also be recognized by Drum Corps International as the corps will perform in exhibition at DCI World Class Semifinals before the age-out ceremony.

Preparations for the summer tour are still ongoing as there is much to plan for before the corps takes flight from Amsterdam for Houston on July 21st. A major part of those preparations is the securing of housing sites throughout the tour. While show sponsors will provide a site for the night before and the day of their show with a possible extra night should the corps not have a performance in another location the next day, there are some days for which the corps needs a place to stay, especially during the first few days of the tour in the Houston area. If you are a band director in the Houston, Texas, area and can assist Jubal with housing, please contact US tour director Hans Kloppert at jubalusatour2011 [at] gmail [dot] com.
