In The News: Blue Stars Induct Six Into Hall Of Fame

La Crosse residents who were instrumental in the success of the La Crosse Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps will be inducted this week into the organization’s first Hall of Fame.

Six people will be honored Thursday in a Hall of Fame banquet in the Cargill Room at the Waterfront.

Frank Van Voorhis and the late Dave Dummer, founders of the Blue Stars in 1964, headline the inductees. Also being inducted is David Kampschroer, former Blue Stars’ director who guided the corps to the top 12 and was instrumental in forming Drum Corps International in 1972 and making the La Crosse corps a founding member.
