Traveling over 1,400 miles this past week, The Cavaliers entered the sweltering heat of Texas for the second time this season. The corps has performed in 21 competitions so far this summer, covering more than 7,500 miles on the ultimate journey to the 2011 DCI World Championships in Indianapolis.

The Cavaliers kicked off the second Texas tour with DCI North Dallas presented by Red River Thunder, the corps’ third and final “home show” of the season. Leading up to the contest, the corps hosted a “Live Learning Event” clinic to give students and fans an opportunity to see the inner workings of the Green Machine. After thrilling audiences throughout the midwest with XtraordinarY, the members pulled out all the stops to deliver another electric performance to a sell-out crowd in Denton, Texas that evening. Taking the field at the close of a large lineup featuring 13 groups, The Cavaliers pushed to the top with a score of 89.65, the highest of the season to date. The Blue Devils and Carolina Crown placed just behind with scores of 88.5 and 88.3, respectively.
