Pioneer 50th Anniversary Reunion & Celebration A Success

Under sunny skies this past weekend, several hundred alumni, fans and family members gathered at the Pioneer Musical Youth Center to celebrate Pioneer’s 50th Anniversary. “Gathering of the Clans”, which is expected to become an annual event, drew alumni from as far away Kentucky, West Virginia and Florida. Those attending the celebration quickly found that there was something for everyone, including a bounce house for the kids!

The weekend was filled with many highlights, one of which was a spirited performance by the 2011 Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps on Saturday afternoon. After seeing the performance, many alumni were reminded of the small powerhouse corps that Pioneer fielded in the early 90’s. Having collected three world championships during that era, many alumni were motivated by the performance to help the corps return to glory in future years.
