At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Canton mayoral candidate Chip Conde said he could not have asked for a better night.

By 8:50, the sky darkened with the fall of night and the threat of rain, which fell hard on the 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Drum Corps International competition at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.

Several of those attending left as the Boston Crusaders cut their performance short when lightning shot across the dark sky.
