Barnhill Named Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets Director

Vanguard Cadet Brass Caption Manager Steve Barnhill has been named the new director of the Vanguard Cadets, following the recent resignation of Robert Nieves, due to his increased responsibilities, related to program development and recruiting in his position as a band director in the Santa Clara Unified School District.

Barnhill, a Vanguard alum (1975-1978) and former Vanguard brass instructor and DCI judge, is the director of bands at Evergreen Valley High School in San Jose. He is also the East Side Union High District Coordinator for Fine Arts. He has been a band director in the district for 27 years.
