| |

Coming off another successful competitive season in their 57 year history, the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Hurricanes are pleased to name Bernie Malesky as the President and Doug Oravez as Corps Director for the upcoming 2012 season. Bernie was the Corps Director of the Hurricanes for 8 years from 2002 to 2010. He will also remain on the Hurricanes Board of Directors.

As part of this change in structure, the Board is also announcing that Doug Oravez has been appointed as Corps Director for 2012. Doug is a very familiar name in the circle of DCA friends having been a member, and instructor with the Hurricanes since 1970. Doug’s latest role was as visual caption head for the 2011 Hurricanes.

“These announcements reflect a win-win situation for the Hurricanes organization because we needed to ensure continued stability in the organization and having Bernie and Doug fill both roles will help provide the membership and staff with a familiar face and a depth of knowledge to lead the Hurricanes to continued success”, stated Thomas Gabianelli, Chairman of the Board.

Other announcements will soon be released once Bernie and Doug have had a chance to finalize their team for 2012. To get membership information, as well as additional information and other news on the Hurricanes, please visit the corps website at www.cthurricanes.org.
