2012 Music City January Camp Report

Music City’s first two winter camps have been huge successes. The instructional staff is extremely pleased with the talent level and work ethic of this season’s corps. The January camp for brass and percussion saw the drum line continue to zero in on final personnel selections. At the conclusion of the camp the horn line treated family and friends to a performance of the corps’ opener for 2012. The Phantom of the Opera theme meshed with Ring of Fire seemed like a fresh direction for the corps. There was plenty of power to be sure, but the haunting harmonies and intertwining of the two melodies made for a more sophisticated effect than past Music City openers.
