Carolina Crown Announces 2012 Drum Majors

Carolina Crown is pleased to introduce the 2012 Drum Major team of Mike Roche, Linda Harvey and Larkin Sharpe. Crown administration and faculty instructed, developed and evaluated nearly 40 candidates from across the country with the specific desires to be the next leaders of the drum corps.

The candidates were involved with training sessions that included leadership, score study, conducting as well as the organizational expectations. At the first two camps the students worked mainly with pre-recordings and computer midi files of actual music Crown will be using, while being video taped for evaluation, development and eventual personal assessment. As the process unfolded over three camps, pairing down to a smaller group allowed conducting assessments while in front of the full music ensemble and live environment.
