Great Falls Elks Lodge claims cowboy artist Charlie Russell as its most famous member.

Two decades after Russell’s death in 1926, one colorful arm of the lodge also began attracting national acclaim. The Great Falls Elks Drum & Bugle Corps soon captured national awards for its skill and appearance.

The drum-and-bugle group won nine national championships between 1947 and 1956, marking one of the most impressive performances by a lodge drum and bugle corps in Elks history.
