The United Alumni Senior Drum and Bugle Corps is once again hosting its annual musical extravaganza “….and the Bands Played on, VIII” on Saturday, May 12, 2012 @ 7 PM. Four of Ontario’s best drum & bugle corps, DOCA – Brass Ensemble, Midlanders Alumni (Drum & Bugle) Corps, Preston Scout House Alumni Band, The Optimists Alumni Drum & Bugle, The Haldimand-Norfolk Concert Band and one of our neighbors to the South; The Mighty St. Joe’s from Rochester N.Y have committed to this exciting event.

This event can best be described as one of the most popular stage concerts of its kind, featuring the music, pageantry and excitement of the finest marching and concert bands in North America. It truly is a great evening of entertainment where the audience can sit back, relax and enjoy that “great big sound” that people loved back when “the Bands played on!

For 2012, this is the first indoor concert of its kind in Ontario and we are very pleased to say that the attendance continues to grow each and every year. This is a joint venture with the Simcoe Lions Club who provides the much needed manpower for this event. All proceeds for this event – over $53,000in the last 7 years has been are donated to The Simcoe Lions Club towards their local community.
