Optimists Alumni To Host “The Wearing Of The Green”

| |

On St Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 16th 2012, the Optimists Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps will revive the “Wearing of the Green” dinner and dance, presented by the Optimists Alumni Booster Club. In the ‘60s and ‘70s, this event would mark the beginning of the show and competitive season for the Toronto Optimists and it was the first public performance of the Corps. Bringing back this long dormant tradition will mark the season kick-off for the Optimists Alumni and will give family and friends their first opportunity to see and hear what the Corps has in store for the coming season.

The evening will start with cocktails at 6pm at Branch 344 of the Royal Canadian Legion, 1395 Lakeshore Blvd. West, Toronto, followed by dinner, dancing, door prizes and lots of fun – plus a performance by the Optimists Alumni of their 2012 repertoire!

Tickets are only $25 per person and can be ordered from Brian Adam at 905-450-6433 – holly [dot] adam [at] sympatico [dot] ca or Ron Smith at 416-266-1871 – smurfy [at] rogers [dot] com by March 10th 2012. Details can also be found at www.optimists-alumni.org .

This promises to be a fun evening and is open to everyone! Please come and join us, as we celebrate two great traditions – St Patrick’s Day and the Wearing of the Green!
