Due to a shortage of drivers, the admin team stepped in and drove the small vehicles pulling trailers the first night on the road. The few of us not driving jumped in passenger seats and blasted loud pop music and conversation all night long, until we pulled into Muhlenburg College in Allentown around 6:00 a.m. It was a fun, delirious drive followed by a grueling day of logistics, but everything ran smoothly for the drum corps, and that’s all that matters.

The Cadets had enough time to shower and get back into their jeans and member T-shirts, then the convoy moved to a gravel parking lot a block away from the YEA! office downtown. At noon, the horns, drums and pit performed a standstill for the community in the plaza. The members had to squint in the hot sun, but they sounded great. Many passersby had never heard of The Cadets; so this was a great chance for the corps to impress their hometown. We’ve still yet to have any complaints about the untimely Christmas music; people really seem to enjoy it.
