Blue Knights Mourn Loss Of Dan Burke

The Blue Knights Family is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Alumnus and Board of Director’s member Dan Burke. Dan fought a courageous 6 year battle with cancer and passed away early AM on June 22, 2012.

Dan was a marching member of the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps and later went on to become the Director of the Blue Knights Indoor World Percussion Ensemble. Under his tutelage the percussion ensemble gained recognition as a leader in the activity internationally and three WGI World Championships were achieved during his tenure. Most importantly, thousands of young people were the benefactors of his devotion and unwavering commitment to them. Dan created an environment which allowed his students to develop into compassionate, hardworking young adults dedicated to excellence in all of their life endeavors.
