Capital Brass! To Perform In Area Schools

On June 8th, former DCA and Mini-corps Associates member Capital Brass! begins a Spring series of assemblies in local schools entitled: “Brass-O-Mania! … a Brief History of Brass Music”.

Students will be presented with a fun and informative program that presents both traditional and corps-style instrumentation. The program involves a 9 piece brass & percussion ensemble and demonstrates the ubiquitous use of brass in a wide variety of music genres, including: Classical, Dixieland, Big Band, Rock, Latin, Reggae and Funk, as well as Cartoon & Movie scoring,

Mask of Zorro
Cartoon Symphony
Backrow Politics
That’s a Plenty
Late in the Evening
Everybody’s Everything
I Feel Good
The Pink Panther

The Spring performances are a warm-up for a larger series which is presently being booked for the 2012-13 school year, throughout Upstate and Central NY. Schools interested in booking the program for next school year may contact Tom MacDonald through the group website: www.capitalbrass.org.
