In The News: Renowned Drum Corps Welcomed Home For Church Centennial

Most Holy Name R.C. Church on Sunday capped its centennial celebration with a reunion and a reconciliation: the homecoming of a nationally renowned drum corps that was born in the parish.

Under a blazing noon sun, the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps performed a half-hour concert on the street, Marsellus Place, in front to the church. Parishioners, many of them alumni of the corps with cherished memories of it, packed the church’s stairs to get a bird’s eye view of the young musicians, 150 of them.
