When (Hurricane) Katrina came, FEMA called the drum corps to borrow their rolling kitchens. These are converted school buses that the corps take on tour where they have to feed 100 teenagers four times a day. These kitchens can really crank out the food.”

Those are the words of Ray Lunieweski, who would know a thing or two about the nation’s 60 or so drum and bugle corps, part marching band, part traveling circus and part mobile summer camp.
