In The News: Summer Music Games Bring Local Talent Home To The Roanoke Valley

Thousands are heading to Salem Stadium Tuesday night for the Summer Music Games of Southwest Virginia. The event will feature six drum and bugle corps from out of state, but the lineup will also include some homegrown talent.

When the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps takes the field, western Virginia will be well-represented. The group will include Chilhowie’s Jesse Lykins on marimba, Salem’s James Fox on mellophone, and Botetourt’s Emilee Higgins in the Color Guard.
