DCA Championships Promise Music-Charged Weekend

For a preview of the largest single event ever booked by the AAACCVB, catch the welcoming ceremonies for the 48th Annual Drum Corps Associates World Championships (DCA) at City Dock on Thursday, August 30, at 5:00 p.m. At that time, six drum corps will provide a free sampling of the music fans are invited to hear all weekend long. Thursday’s lineup includes: reigning DCA World Champions, the Minnesota Brass; Minne-Brass Mini Corps, Minnesota; Annapolis Drum & Bugle Corps; Sacramento Freelancers Alumni; Kidsgrove Scouts, United Kingdom; and Ghost Riders Mini Corps, New York.

Forty drum corps from throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom will be participating in the World Championships at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis Friday through Sunday, August 31-September 2. The schedule of performances is as follows:

Friday, 8/31 – 4:00 p.m.
– Individual/Ensemble and Mini Corps – free
Saturday, 9/1 – 2:00 p.m.
– DCA Championship Preliminary Competitions
Sunday, 9/2 – 10:00 a.m.
– Alumni Spectacular – Performances by alumni corps
Sunday, 9/2 – 5:00 p.m.
– DCA World Championship Finals
