Former Fitchburg Drum-And-Bugle Kingsmen To Reunite Aug. 11

For many who were involved with the Kingsmen during their youth, the city’s former drum-and-bugle corps meant discipline, commitment, pride, and a sense of accomplishment and belonging to an extended family.

Whether they played horns or drums, twirled red flags in the color guard or spun rifles in the air, together they were “a force to be reckoned with,” according to past members, who competed fiercely with their counterparts throughout the Northeast and even Canada from when the Kingsmen formed in the early 1950s to the time they disbanded in the late 1990s.
