Amy Snook was just a girl when she first saw the Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps perform in the 1960s – but she was already hooked.

Once she became old enough to join the independent, all-ages group, she taught herself to play the trumpet in order to try out, relying on her sight-reading ability from years of playing violin and piano.
