In The News – Blue Stars Member: ‘I Have Had The Time Of My Life’

Mike Ruegg is the last of a breed in drum corps.

The 21-year-old Onalaska man marched the first of his five years as a 12-year-old with the Blue Star Cadets. He was the first musician in many years to move up from a cadet corps to a world-class corps.

Most drum corps members take their summers off from college to march with a world-class corps. Ruegg didn’t go to college after graduating from Onalaska High School in 2009.
