In The News: Spartans Secure $50,000 Grant After Rallying In Online Contest

With the drama of baseball’s legendary ninth-inning, two outs, 3-2 count scenario, members of the Spartans Drum & Bugle Corps family ignited a home-stretch rally late Wednesday night to secure a $50,000 grant in an online voting contest.

Corps President Paul LaFlamme said Thursday that the 11th-hour flurry of votes pushed the Spartans into a 43rd-place finish, three spots ahead of the cutoff from $50,000 to a $25,000 grant.
