Santa Clara Vanguard Joins Forces To Support Music Education

Vanguard is pleased to be one of four organizations participating in a new children’s percussion program In Santa Clara County. Aptly named BuddaBOOM!, the program is funded by 1st Act Silicon Valley and includes Santa Clara Vanguard, Tezkatlipoka Aztec Dance & Drum, San Jose Taiko and Oriki Theater.

Each of the four organizations has created a 10-12 week curriculum to present at an elementary school in Santa Clara County, focused on cultural enrichment, exposure to music and drumming, and building confidence and communication skills. 1st Act has partnered each organization with the local YMCA’s After School Program, so the BuddaBOOM! class fits seamlessly within an existing structure each week.
