Looking Back: Designing A Blue Stars Uniform

Thanks to everyone for the great response to our little April Fools Day story about the Corps’ new uniforms. We enjoyed everyone’s comments and had some fun not taking ourselves too seriously for the day.

Many have asked about how this actual uniform design sketch came into being. The answer takes us back to the fall of 2006. We were struggling to come up with a design that departed from the traditional cross straps the corps had used since its founding in 1964. Our efforts were going nowhere, when we saw some designs a young artist had created and posted to DCP.
