2013 Santa Clara Vanguard Memorial Day Weekend Report

On Friday evening, check-in for the 2013 season officially began as the guard and brass met in the gym at The King’s Academy in Sunnyvale, CA. One by one, members met with the tour admin team to confirm they had all their documents and medical forms up to date. Once everything was squared away, the two sections split up to begin rehearsals at 7. The guard met outside while the brass worked the closer in the gym. Snack followed rehearsal, and it was lights out at midnight.

Saturday morning was a chilly one with temperatures in the lower 50?s, but the cold didn’t slow down the first full day of pre-tour. After breakfast, Brass went to the football field for basics block, and the guard continued their work on flag technique. Meanwhile, our wonderful volunteers had set up shop in the dance studio and were busy fitting members for their uniform pants.
