Academy Supporting Moore, OK, Band Programs

We have all been watching on television as the people of Moore, Oklahoma have been struggling through the incredible tragedy that fell on their homes, schools, and livelihoods this week. We cannot stop thinking about the fine people in Moore that we encountered two years ago as we were passing through on our national tour. In 2011, The Academy were guests of the band program at Southmoore High School, who was generous enough to open their doors and allow us to sleep, eat, rehearse, and prepare for our performance later that evening. It takes a special community to open their doors to nearly 200 complete strangers and trust that they will take care of their precious facility. Schools across the country do this for drum corps every day, all summer long. Without them, this activity simply does not survive.
