Florida Brass Going To DCA This Year

The Florida Brass Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps from Lakeland, Florida, will head north to the DCA World Championship this year. The corps will perform their show in front of thousands at the Alumni Spectacular Sunday September 1st.

The Florida Brass is now in its 10th year of entertaining the crowds in the sunshine state of Florida and, for the first time, will present their show to the country. The corps will travel by bus, car, train, and air to be part of this great drum corps event in Annapolis, Maryland at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Florida Brass started 10 years ago with 7 members and has grown to nearly 50 horns and a powerful drum line with a sharp honor guard. For the first time the corps is going to blast the DCA crowds. With such a sound that will rock the stadium with a lot of new and old drum corps songs written and instructed by and old time favorite “Dick Burns”.

Some of the music The Florida Brass will be playing, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You”, “Sing, Sing, Sing”, “Since I Fell/Mercy, Mercy, Mercy”, and a song we all know from that world famous singer, “Thriller”!!!

Be part of this drum corps event in Annapolis, Maryland, Labor Day Weekend and see what the state of Florida produced in 10 years. With members from over 60 present and past drum and bugle corps and local high school and college bands in Florida. They are the corps with “Class”, The Florida Brass.
