2013 Crossmen Blog Day 2

The day started with the Crossmen hosting our first ever fun run lovingly named the “Run Your Brass Off 1 Mile”. It was a great morning with lots of Crossmen supporters participating in the festivities. Our long time friend and Crossmen supporter, Suzanne Hermann, supplied us with her famous Bagel Factory Bagels for the post race refreshments. Our friends,Dave and Leanna McIlvoy, ran the race with Dave getting a podium finish in his class. The corps ran the race as part of their normal physical training routine only getting a t-shirt for their efforts this morning. There were some pretty impressive time recorded by Crossmen snare, Gavin James and Crossmen head Drum Major, Jordan Schock. Crossmen Board member, Mark Purnell did a great job organizing and announcing the race. I earned a silver medal in my class. This was the first competitive run I ever participated in. It was a great feeling running with the corps and friends of the Crossmen.We are sure to do this again next year.
