2013 Crossmen Blog Day 3

| |

We started our Sunday morning like we do every tour day. A one mile run followed by stretching, then breakfast and on to rehearsal. After the run through we EPL’d (Eat, Pack and Load) and headed to the Soughlake Square for our Annual Father’s Day performance.

Crossmen are very fortunate to have a group of hard working Crossmen parents and alumni parents that had a vision three years ago to host a drum corps event in the prestigious Southlake Square. Their vision included raising money through local sponsors and allowing the event to be free admission. The first year saw over 1,000 people attend and the event has grown from there. This year we estimate that there were over 1,400 folks in attendance. The lineup this year included Vigilante’s “V Crew”, “World Gone Mad” from Austin, start up Sound Sport Team from Dallas, Amethyst Fire and San Antonio’s Crossmen. The evening was well received by the crowd. Crossmen made a few more fans and educated a few more people about our activity. We are most grateful to our event sponsors including Toll Brothers Custom Homes, Hilton of Southlake, South Park Lexus, Pet Love, Pet Butler and country band Empty Pockets. The Schock and Lyman Families make this event happen for Crossmen. They are the most organized and thorough group of people we know. Their love for the Crossmen is obvious. The hours they spend on our behalf is priceless. We look forward to seeing them when Crossmen return to the Lone Star State in July.
