2013 Crossmen Tour Blog Day 50
The roads were rougher than expected and the tolls for the privilege of driving on them were more expensive than expected as well. I don’t know what they are doing with the toll money but they aren’t spending it on road maintenance! All of us in the RV were airborne at multiple times on the trip. We weren’t sure about the motorcoaches but our ride in the Command Center was the worst of the summer. Stuff was falling out of cabinets things that didn’t rattle before were shaken to the max. We survived it though and found ourselves in a paradise at the Groton School. Our hosts were very gracious and generous. The staff was offered a meal in the cafeteria for lunch. The volunteers and staff had drinks and treats ready for them in their sleeping quarters. The members were delivered treats to be served along with snack by a faculty member. We felt like rock stars! The grounds are story book like and maintained to perfection.
