Impact Of Orlando Announces 2013 Program

Impact of Orlando Drum & Bugle Corps from Central Florida has announced their musical lineup for the 2013 season. Their 2013 program “On a Journey” features the music of the famed American rock group Journey.

The show starts off with “Lights” to warm up the horn line and begin the presentation. Jumping immediately into high gear, the opener belts out an energetic medley of three tunes . . . Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’, City of the Angels and Keep on Runnin’.

Next in the lineup is “Feelin’ Free” – an original piece written by Darrell Wahlberg inspired by the works of Journey. The song features the upper voices in a catchy melody. Unconventional chord progressions in the middle voices lead to a soulful cannon in the bridge. “Anyway You Want It” is another high-energy medley arrangement driven by the low brass and complete with a percussion feature in the middle.

Lastly, “Wheel in the Sky” was chosen as the finale, which transitions into a drum corps version of “Anytime” to end the show on a high note.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy a rock concert on the field, as Impact takes you on an entertaining, musical Journey!
