Thurrock Marching Brass Perform At Towngate Theatre
Thurrock Marching Brass joined the cast of the 2013 Expression! Show, hosted by the High Voltage Big Band on Saturday 14 September 2013 and performed to an enthusiastic and packed Towngate Theatre in Basildon, Essex. Performing their 2013 summer program entitled Ker-Ching! Which features the music of legendary pop group ABBA the young performers were joined on stage by Corps Director, Darren Crisp and a small group of his staff all of whom joined in by playing several instruments along side.
Speaking of the performance, Corps Director, Darren Crisp said “This was the first time that the band had performed inside a large theatre and with the audience in such close proximity I was a little nervous of how they would cope. I needn’t have been though as they all performed brilliantly well and especially after it being such a long day for them all. It is important for me to ensure that we provide as many opportunities to perform locally and this one, lead by my good friend Steve Lees who heads up the High Voltage Big Band, was a really good test for the youngsters which I have to say they passed with flying colours. Well done to each and every one of them, and as always to the team of support and help that we are lucky to enjoy here at Thurrock Marching Brass a very special thank you also”.
