Bridgemen To Sponsor Competitive Indoor Color Guard

| |

In an effort to expose more people to their organization, the Bridgemen have expanded their operations to include a new competitive indoor color guard, open to high school and college aged individuals. Double B, as it has come to be named, will function as a separate organization under the umbrella of the Bayonne Bridgemen Alumni Corps. They will compete with similar groups throughout New Jersey in the USBands competitive circuit.

The group is currently recruiting members and will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, October 23rd at St. Andrews School on Broadway @ 4th Streets in Bayonne. Rehearsals will be held weekly from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. Performances will begin in early February and run thru early April.

Competitive color guard is a physical activity. Members will learn basic dance and equipment handling skills. The equipment used will be a variety of flags, mock rifles, sabers and other props. Routines are performed to music in a costume that is appropriate to a program theme. Performers will be required to move, in time, through various responsibilities of staging and theatric character. They will work as a team to develop their program and build confidence through the acquired disciplines.

Potential members with questions concerning the organization can send an email to doublebcolorguard [at] gmail [dot] com
