Vanguard Winter Percussion Drummers Play For President Carter

| |

On Monday, October 7, a group of five Vanguard Winter Percussion drummers performed at a dinner fundraiser in Saratoga, CA for Habitat for Humanity’s Carter Work Project. Former President Jimmy Carter was in attendance, and the members got to shake hands with him. VWP/SCV alumnus Adam Tsukamoto, currently a staff member for the Vanguard Cadets and VWP, directed the performers and took photos.

From the Habitat for Humanity website: “Each year since 1984, former President Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, give a week of their time to help us improve and build homes. The Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project helps raise awareness of the critical need for simple, decent and affordable housing. The event attracts volunteers from around the world.” This year’s events were held in California, Colorado, New York and New Jersey.
