Gold Design Team Returns For 2014

Gold Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the return of its’ successful design team for the 2014 season: The team responsible for vaulting the corps onto the national stage over the past three years.

Gary Backlund Drill Designer and Visual Caption Head
Gary has a long career as one of the top designers and Instructors in the marching band industry. His drum corps credits include DCI Open Class Champion Esperanza, DCI medallists Teal Sound and Marion Cadets. Mr. Backlund is an adjudicator for the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association, and has served as a member of the WGI Percussion Advisory Board. Gary is the founding director of Alchemy Independent Winter Guard of San Diego CA. and the owner of Dot Perfect Design, a company that specializes in customized shows for marching bands, winter guards and percussion ensembles.
