Pioneer Announces 2014 Program

The Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps proudly announces their 2014 production, “JOY!”

This is a continuation of exploration into the world of Christian contemporary music.

The program begins with an adaptation of the popular a cappella group GLAD’s uplifting arrangement of the powerful hymn, “A MIGHTY FORTRESS.” It expresses the Joy of having a powerful God who protects and provides for us.

WE GATHER TOGETHER” is another beautiful fresh arrangement from the group GLAD that expresses the Joy of giving thanks to God for all of the wonderful blessings that He showers on us.

Pioneer performs an expression of Southern-styled Gospel music, inspired by the popular brass ensemble, The Canadian Brass. This lively combination of Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus,” as well as America’s Gospel anthem, “When the Saints Go Marching In” is skillfully integrated into, “SAINTS/HALLELUJAH.” The Joy of celebration radiates throughout this rousing crowd-appealer.

The Joy of nostalgically going back to its roots closes its 2014 production with a wonderful arrangement of Percy Grainger’s “IRISH TUNE FROM COUNTY DERRY

No Pioneer show would be complete without the playing of its theme song made famous by and brought to the the United States by the 7th Cavalry Regiment, “THE GARRY OWEN MARCH.” This march shows the Joy of the Irish! And with spontaneous enthusiasm, many crowds will joyously clap their hands in time to its lilt!
